As some of you may know, I made a massive change this year and decided to take a years unpaid leave from the school I’ve been working at for the past 5 years and decided to give Primary Music teaching a shot! This change for me was rather extreme, I mean, I had no idea what primary kids were learning, what standard or level primary children are at, what curriculum to follow….let alone the important things like how to make my room pretty!
One of the best things about being a teacher is school holidays.
Before Ava came along, I used to look forward to the sleep-ins, days on the couch in front of the telly in my jammies and endless hours of shopping and coffee catch ups. I may not get sleep-ins, but I certainly get to hang about in my jammies, not bother putting on any make-up or do my hair, and the endless hours of TV have been replaced with Giggle and Hoot and Peppa Pig. Holidays certainly aren’t what they used to be anymore, but I am so grateful for the extra time that I get to spend with my little Miss, allowing me to feel like a stay-at-home Mummy again.
